Notes for a Friend

Standard

On a visit to our local and wonderful art shoppe, The Queen’s Ink, my daughter picked up this adorable House Mouse Stamp. These little meeses are so cute and I love how they’ve worked together to share the blueberries. After she colored it a few times, I decided to give it a go and this all-occasion card was born.

Not a Creature was Stirring

Standard

I’m sneaking in another Christmas card I’ve been working on.  I love this image so much!  It reminds me so much of my very first fur baby when she reached her senior years and gave up her predator ways.

Gifts to Tie

Standard

Continuing with the Christmas spirit, here’s another little goody that I’m just finishing up.  This little House Mouse is terribly cute and made for a lovely card.  I used a bright white embossed background, then added traditional Christmas colors and a simple “Merry Christmas”message.

Congratulations Are in Order

Standard

A little birdie told me that her family is growing and I am tickled pink (or blue!) for all of them.  I’m sworn to secrecy for now, but that couldn’t stop me from creating a special card in anticipation of the blessed arrival.  In fact, I created two- one pink, one blue

There are lots of great stamps available, but this Happy Hoppers stamp from Stampendous popped right into my head.  Bunny Luv is a very simple image, but it projects such emotion.  Can’t you just feel the love?  I put together a very clean layout to keep all the attention on the wonderful bunnies.

Congratulations Graduation

Standard

Another graduation! I’ve been pretty lucky to celebrate a few graduations this season.  It’s been a lot of fun to put together a few different card variations of the same theme.  I made this card for a fine young man who I’m glad to call a friend.

I put this card together with the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #197 “Congratulations” in mind, so I broke out the Graduate stamp and went to work.  I decided to go with the traditional black gown to keep it on the masculine side. I gave it a modified tri-fold and used a fancy die cut to make the red, white and black palette a little more interesting.

Saying ‘Thank You’ with Truffles

Standard

Tomorrow is a big day… it’s my daughter’s last day of elementary school!  She has been gearing up to celebrate moving on to middle school with her friends, but also to say goodbye to her favorite teacher, Mrs. C.  My girl first had Mrs. C for fourth grade, then got super lucky when Mrs. C moved up to fifth grade along with her.  My daughter says that Mrs. C makes learning fun and they share a love of math and kittens.  (Can’t say I blame them!)

Mrs. C also has a great love for chocolate, so when I came across a used House Mouse Chocolate Truffle (Stampa Rosa, circa 1999), I knew it would make the perfect ‘thank you’ card to go along with some delectable handmade truffles!

Birthday for a Coffee Loving Friend

Standard

Birthday Set

Tomorrow is the birthday of my great friend, Megan, and I just couldn’t wait another minute to wish her a happy birthday. She is one of those wonderful people who can laugh and share and make you feel good about yourself, and I am so grateful that our lives bumped into each other!

Megan and I both share a love of coffee and conversation, so these stamps, all from Stampendous, are perfect.  I couldn’t decide which I loved the most, so in addition to my card, I added a gift sack for her coffee-themed gift.

Hello world!

Standard

It’s just after 10pm.  The dust has settled for the day; the moon is high in the sky; and I can finally exhale and pick up my markers.  I am a wife, a mom of two, and I work full-time outside my home.  Sometimes my stress level can get a little high.  On the advice of a friend, I started coloring to release tension.  I find when I’m being creative that the tension flows away and allows me to relax.

These days I’m coloring stamped images to incorporate into cards.  Most times, I am making cards for family and friends, but sometimes I do it just for fun.  This month is busy with occasions, so there are a lot of people on my mailing list.

My first card is for my (much) younger cousin, who is graduating from high school.  I’m glad I was able to put a little bit of myself into creating a card to say “Happy Graduation!” even though I wasn’t able to be there to congratulate her in person.
